Home School P.E.

The OC is proud to offer a "Home School PE" program for children aged 5-12, from 1-3PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They will work on a variety of different sports, and swimming throughout the program. Ballet - Summer 2023

Through Ballet, participants will express ideas and feelings while learning balance, grace, poise, and self-control.  Traditional ballet clothing and shoes are preferred. Classes consist of the following: Blooming Ballerinas is for children 3-5 years old.  Blooming Ballerinas classes take place Monday at 11:00AM. Ballet 1, which is for children 6-9 years old. Ballet 1 takes place Monday at 11:35AM. Ballet 2 is for children 9-12 years old and takes place Monday at 11:35AM.  Ballet Basics 12 and Up is a beginner class for ages 12 years and older.  Ballet Basics 12 Years and Up takes place Friday at 11:35AM.  Ballet for Boys, Balance and Coordination is for boys 5-8 years old and takes place Friday at 11:00AM. Monday classes run from June 12 - July 31. Wednesday classes run from June 14 - August 2. Friday classes run from June16 - August 4.  A recital will be held at the end of the session on a date to be determined later.

Class cost for the Ballet Basics 12 and Up class is $70/session for annual family members, and $80 for non-annual family members.  Class cost for all other Ballet and Ballet/Jazz combo classes is $65/session for annual family members, and $55/session for non-annual family members. The Summer session is 8 classes.

Jazz - Summer 2023

Jazz introduces stronger and sharper movements through the use of rhythmically complex and syncopated movements that combine music and dance as a single expression. Traditional jazz clothing and shoes are preferred. Gymnastics - Summer 2023

Come build your child's agility, balance, strength, coordination, and social skills, all while having fun! Participants will learn different skills in our two different classes. Our Preschool Class (3-5yrs) is on Thursdays at 9:10AM and 10AM, and also Saturday at 8:30AM, 9:20AM and 10:10AM. In the Preschool class, they will learn basic skills including bar work, walking styles, cartwheels, and more! Our Beginner Class is on Thursdays at 10:50AM and 11:40AM and also Saturdays at 11:00AM and 11:50AM. In the Beginner class, they will learn more complex move such as handstand holds, back hand springs, and more! Both classes are $75/session for Annual Members, and $85 for non-annual members. Each session consists of 8 classes. 

Thursday classes run from June 8 - July 27. Saturday classes run June 10 - July 29. Skill demonstration days are July 27 and 29.

Dance and Cheer - Spring 2023

Dance, Cheer, Kick, and Jump into this fun class designed to teach kids, K-5th grade, pompom and cheering basics. Kids will learn proper technique, sideline cheers, chants and a pom pom routine throughout the session. Tennis shoes and comfortable clothes are recommended. Parents are encouraged to sign children in before dropping them off. Classes will be held on Thursdays at 6PM with a performance at one of The OC Basketball games. Cost for program is $55 for non annual family members, and $65 for those families with a valid annual family membership. Tuition includes T-Shirt, Pom Poms, and Instruction. Please include T-Shirt size in appropriate box for registration. Please designate Youth Sizes if applicable.

Hip Hop - Fall 2022 Registration Link

Hip Hop incorporates a variety of old and new urban, street and pop dance styles. Hip hop dancing is very dynamic and helps the dancers improve flexibility and develop body balance and coordination. The Ozark Community Center offers both a Hip Hop Basics class, where students will begin to learn the basics of hip hop with their peers and Hip Hop Basics Plus, this class is more intense, with more physical moves such as; jumps, twists and more. Hip Hop Basics is for ages 5-7, and Basics Plus is for 8 and up.  Each class will learn a routine and perform the routine for family and friends on December 16th.  For questions, email or call 417-581-7002 extension 2023.

Special Events

Father Daughter Dance - January 2024

Dance the night away and enjoy a ton of fun at our Annual Father Daughter Dance, taking place on the last Saturday of Janaury, 2024. Our night will contain fun competitions, refreshments, prizes and lots of dancing! The program begins at 7PM, and runs until 9PM. Coat check will be available on a donation basis. Pre-registration is requested and will begin in early January 2024, as well as announcement of the theme for the 2024 Dance.  For adding on people, multiple registrations will be required when doing so online. Daughters can be escorted by Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, or any other special father figure. 2024 prices will be published in Fall of 2023.

Mom and Me Fun Night - Feb  2024

Join us for our annual Mother and Son fun Night - taking place on the last Saturday in February of 2024. This year, join us as we take part in Laser Tag, dodgeball and other competitions, pizza and refreshments, rock climbing, crafts and more!  The event takes place at The OC from 6PM to 9PM.  Aunts and Grandmas are more than welcome as well! We ask that only individuals ages 5 and up attend. Registration for the event will be available around the end of January, 2024.

Babysitting 101 - April 29th, 2023

Come take part as The OC puts on a Red Cross Babysitter's training. Our Camp Directors will help impart the skills of behavior management and games that can be played with youth, while also teaching Red Cross curriculum pieces including recognizing emergencies, leadership skills, child traits from 0-10, and more! Participants can also sign up for Child and Infant CPR as an add on. All participants will receive a digital copy of their certification upon completion of the class. The basic Red Cross Babysitting class with certificate costs $40 for those with an annual family membership, and $45 for those without. To add the CPR Class, as well as the certification, the price increases an additional $30 ($70 for annual family members, and $75 for non members).

The babysitting portion of class runs from 8:30AM to 3:30PM, with the CPR add-on then taking place from 3:30PM-5:30PM or so. Depending on the pace of the class, it may run over to ensure that the skills are taught completely and effectively.

Annual Doggy Paddle - Fall 2023

Registration is not yet available for Ozark's 4th Annual Doggy Paddle, in September 2023. Small dogs (weighing in at 30 pounds or less, and no more than 18 inches high) can take place from 1PM-3PM, and then large dogs (greater than 30 pounds) can attend from 2PM-4PM. Please note that there is an hour of overlap (2PM-3PM) where dogs of all sizes can enter.  

Proof of up to date vaccination is required to enter, and can be turned in at The OC prior to the day of the event, or brought day of to the event. Please list your name, and the name of your pet on the vaccination form when registering. These can also be emailed to, with the owner's name in the subject line. These should include Rabies, Bordatella, Distemper, and Parvo. Dogs must also not be in heat, or have health conditions that endanger other dogs or humans. 

For the safety of our canine friends, we can only allow one dog per owner (12+). Please register each of your canines individually under the owner who will be supervising their behavior. Dogs must remain on their leash until inside the aquatic facility. Any dog that is acting aggressively will be expected to be calmed by their owner before unleashing them, or allowing them to participate. There is a "Zero Tolerance" policy in regards to aggressive dogs and they will be asked to leave if that happens.

Night in the Lights - December 2023

Watch the magic unfold as you take a horse drawn stage coach to view over a mile of twinkling lights at Finley River Park, or enjoy a nice stroll through the festival of lights at Finley River Park. Reservations for carriage rides (whether single, couple, or full carriage) are able to be made online or at The OC Front Desk. The Christmas Lights will be closed to vehicle traffic on these nights, and parking will be available at the 4H Center or the Christian County Library's lower lot. 

PLEASE NOTE FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION - Registration online may not reflect accurate availability due to the constraints of our registration system. Additionally, you will be assigned the first available spot. Rider pairings cannot be guaranteed, and may be split between separate carriage rides. For best service, we advise you go in person to The OC Front Desk for most up to date availability and to select your requested timeslot. After registering online, you can call The OC front desk during business hours to request your timeslot. Unfortunately, we are not able to reserve timeslots based on voicemails.

Childcare Programs

Kids Day Off and Kids Night In

Registration is available for select "Kids Day Off"/"Kids Night In" programs through The OC. These programs are provided on days which Ozark R VI school district is out of session. Kids Night In programs are provided on the second Friday of the month. Children should be in grades K-6th, and dinner will be provided for Kids Night In. Please plan to bring a sack lunch (Kids Day Off), towel, and swimsuit on these days.

Snow Days

Snow day registration is unavailable online due to the random nature of those programs. The decision to offer snow day care will be made after Ozark R-VI schools have cancelled. Our decision is based on potential interest, safety of both participants and staff, and staff availability. Once a decision has been made, interested participants can either register by calling The OC Front Desk, registering in person at The OC front desk, or if an online link has been posted, from the link on The OC's Facebook page. In order for your child's spot to be held, payment must be made. Spots are extremely limited, and are available on a first come, first serve basis. Registration is nonrefundable, as staffing decisions are based on your enrollment, and often can result in other children being turned away when a spot is held for your child.  Please note that this program has a strict maximum capacity to avoid going out of staff to child ratio.

Spring Break Camp 2023 - March 13th through 17th

Come join us when school lets out for Spring Break! We will be taking field trips to the Volleyball Beach, Andy B's Bowling Alley, Jump Mania, and more - and that doesn't even begin to talk about the fun we'll be having at The OC! Our program runs during Ozark R-VI’s Spring Break, March 13-17. These will be available at both an entire break package or individual daily rates . Rates per day will be $30 for non members, and $25 for annual family members), however, you can get the whole holiday break at a discounted rate for approximately $22 per day ($110 for 5 days of care) for annual family members, and approximately $27 per day for non members ($135 for non members). March 10th is available as an add on for $25 for those who do not have an annual membership, or $22 for those who do. 

Kids will need to bring their towel, swimsuit, sack lunch and snack to the program daily. Closed toed shoes are required for the Rock Wall, and socks are required for the Jump Mania field trip and Bounce House. Drop off begins at 7AM, pick Up ends at 6PM. Kids are able to be dropped off and picked up at any point during the day, but parents will have to meet them where they are at (Field Trip, Playgrounds, etc).
