A third-term alderperson, Bruce lives and works in Ward II. He is an attorney practicing family law and personal injury in a building he renovated on the Historic Square. His wife Sarah owns and operates a funeral home in historic center city Ozark.  Their family also lives near the Finley River, also in historic center city.

At times, he is seen bicycling to work or Board of Aldermen meetings.  He is the former President of the Christian County Bar Association, a former board member of the Ozark Chamber of Commerce, former Chair of the Ozark Historic Preservation Commission, and present member of Rotary.  He serves on the Chadwick Flyer Greenway Trail Committee with Ozark Greenways.

He and his family enjoy traveling, kayaking, bicycling, and cooking.  He was named the Ozark Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year for 2019.  He values keeping law enforcement strong, building greenways and better parks, and fostering smart economic growth in his Ward and all of Ozark.

    Alderman Ward II

“'I would never have guessed that this was the first time this Board of Aldermen has worked together,' stated a public comment speaker at the April 17th meeting. The room was full of public participants, along with the staff and elected officials. Differing opinions were stated, questions were asked, and repercussions were projected, all in a civil and respectful manner. As the newly elected Ward Two Alderman, I was pleased to see that this is the way local government works in Ozark, Missouri.

These three “Ps” are my goals:

    • Preserve the small-town feel and protect Ozark’s unique assets and character.
    • Promote our existing growth of locally owned businesses around them that “fit” our town.
    • Provide a safe and secure environment by creating neighborhoods, connectivity, and adequate law enforcement.

I look forward to continuing to participate in several community groups, remaining active in community events, and participating in community life so that I can learn firsthand from you and also bring information to you. If you plan to attend, let me know so I can look for you. I enjoy putting a name with a face and would like to get to know you. Feel free to contact me at any time. I am here because of you." - Alderwoman Jean Ann Hutchinson.
